What AppGallery is

Huawei had an app store for its phones long before the current name appeared, and in 2017 it was rebuilt under the AppGallery brand. Its role grew sharply when newer Huawei phones lost access to Google Mobile Services: without Google Play, AppGallery became the main source of apps on those devices. The store has categories, charts and editorial selections, app updates, gift codes and coupons for games, and a section for quick apps that run without full installation. Developers publish through the AppGallery Connect platform, and Huawei reviews submitted apps before listing them; the AppGallery Connect change history shows how that platform evolves. Many global apps are available, although some popular services from Google and a few other companies are missing or appear only as links to their web versions.

How to install or update

1. On Huawei and Honor phones, AppGallery is usually preinstalled; open it and check for updates under Me.
2. On other Android phones, follow Huawei's official instructions to download the installer.
3. Sign in with a HUAWEI ID for purchases, reviews and sync.
4. Browse or search for apps and tap Install.

Requirements

AppGallery runs on Android phones and on Huawei's HarmonyOS. Some apps and features depend on Huawei Mobile Services, which work fully only on Huawei devices.

Safety

Apps in AppGallery pass Huawei's review, but no store is perfect: check the developer name, reviews and requested permissions before installing. Avoid downloading AppGallery itself from random mirror sites.

Tips for Huawei phones without Google

If an app you need is not in AppGallery, check whether the service has a web version that works in the browser. Keep AppGallery itself updated: the store updates the preinstalled Huawei apps too. Before installing apps from outside the store, check the source and the permissions they ask for, because outside the store there is no review at all.

Price

The store is free; individual apps may be free or paid, and in-app purchases go through Huawei's payment system.
